Registrations open for the Zurich Seville Marathon 2027 to reach 20,000 runners

The Zurich Seville Marathon 2027, which will take place on February 21 next year, opens tonight at 00:01 (April 17) the registration period for the general public after the first two phases that gave priority to participants from the previous edition and those on the waiting list.

Of the 20,000 race bibs available for the 2027 edition, 3,000 more than in 2026, fewer than 10,000 remain.

After the first two preferential periods that rewarded the loyalty of the runners registered in 2026 and those who were on the waiting list, the Zurich Seville Marathon opens registration for the general public, offering the slightly fewer than 10,000 remaining race bibs that will complete the 20,000 available for February 21, 2027. This figure will set the all-time participation record after the 17,000 runners in 2026.

The general registration period for the Zurich Seville Marathon 2027 opens tonight (at 00:01 on April 17), after giving priority to runners who took part in the previous edition and to those who were on the waiting list. There will be a total of 20,000 spots available.

Runners registered in 2026 had their race bib guaranteed during the first 4 days (from April 9 to 12), and from April 13 to 16 all those runners who signed up for the waiting list of the Zurich Seville Marathon 2026 and decided to take part in 2027 were able to register.

Starting today, Friday, April 17 at 00:01, the process will open to anyone who wishes to register until all 20,000 available race bibs are taken. In the previous edition, registrations sold out in record time, in 28 days, and anticipation for the race on February 21, 2027 is extremely high, among other reasons, due to the outstanding results achieved by elite runners in the flattest marathon in Europe, which remains, as of mid-April, the third fastest of the year. The Zurich Seville Marathon has the flattest course in Europe, with only 38 turns and 10 meters of elevation gain along its route, and the last edition made headlines worldwide after the spectacular sprint finish in which the judges had to resort to photo finish to determine the winner between Ethiopians Tola Shura Kitata and Abderehman Asrar Hiyrden, who crossed the finish line in 2h03:59.
