Zurich Seville Marathon 2026 Regulations

ARTICLE 1. PRESENTATION

The Municipal Sports Institute of the City Council of Seville, together with Sport Life Ibérica SA, is organizing the 41st Zurich Seville Marathon, to be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., open to all adults who wish to participate without any distinction.

ARTICLE 2. CERTIFICATION

The course will measure 42,195 meters and will be properly certified. This race is held under the World Athletics Road Race Regulations and the RFEA, and is included in the AIMS calendar. The route will be marked and signposted every kilometer vertically and horizontally, as well as horizontally in its entirety.

ARTICLE 4. SCHEDULE

The Start will be at 8:30 a.m. and the maximum time to finish the race is 6 hours, so the Finish will close at 2:30 p.m. The wheelchair athletes’ start will be at 8:29 a.m.

ARTICLE 5. ROLLING DEVICES

The use of any rolling device during the race is not permitted (including handbikes) except for the wheelchairs of disabled athletes, certified by the Federation and officially accepted by the Organization. These athletes must wear a helmet. (remove the accent)

ARTICLE 6. REGISTRATION

6.1.   REGISTRATION PERIOD:

From April 7, 2025, until Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. or until the 12,000 available bibs are sold out. This figure may be modified following the indications of the competent health and sports authorities, whether increased or reduced depending on the health situation at the time of the race.

6.2.   REGISTRATION FEES AND DEADLINES:

SPECIAL PROMOTION FOR RESIDENTS REGISTERED IN A MUNICIPALITY OF THE PROVINCE OF SEVILLE (*):

(*) Registration until December 5, 2025 or until available bibs are sold out:

  • Standard: 20.66 euros.
  • People with disabilities (33%):10.33 euros.

Registration from December 6, 2025 to January 31, 2026 or until available bibs are sold out:

  • Standard: 41.36 euros
  • People with disabilities (33%): 20.68 euros.

Registration outside the above deadlines (if bibs are still available):

  • Standard: 62.05 €.
  • People with disabilities (33%): 62.05 euros.

GENERAL REGISTRATION (FOR NON-RESIDENTS IN A MUNICIPALITY OF THE PROVINCE OF SEVILLE):

From the opening of registrations until bib number 12,000:

  • Standard: 71.46 euros
  • People with disabilities (33%): 35.73 euros

WAITING LIST: Once the bibs are sold out, registrations processed through the waiting list (residents, non-residents, and disabled runners) will have the price of the general registration corresponding to their category, plus processing fees for each registration type.

Special promotion for Andalusian Clubs* (from April 7 to May 25, 2025): they will receive a 20% discount on the current price of the general registration (for non-residents in the province of Seville), provided that registrations have not sold out before that date.

An additional 5 € fee for the “day license” of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) must be added to these costs. All participants holding a regional or national federation license or a Runner Plus card are exempt from this fee.

6.3.   CONDITIONS

3.1.- The special promotion for Andalusian clubs has the following conditions:

  • Clubs must be registered in the Andalusian Registry of Sports Entities
  • Clubs must have at least 15 registered athletes belonging to the club

3.2.- To verify residence in a municipality of the province of Seville or the city of Seville, the registered person must attach their certificate of residence through the registration form at the moment of submitting it. The Certificate of residence will be the ONLY VALID DOCUMENT and must be no older than 1 year prior to completing the registration.

3.3.- Likewise, to verify disability status, it must be attached at the moment of registration through the online form. Alternatively, a copy of the disability certificate card may be emailed to the same address.

3.4.- From 00:01 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, no registrations will be accepted.

6.4.   HOW TO REGISTER:

Online at www.zurichmaratonsevilla.es, in the registration section.

6.5.   CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of the Technical Regulations of the race, including the Responsible Declaration included therein (Annex 1).
  • Under no circumstances, once registration has been completed, may participation be transferred to another person due to inability to take part in the race or for any other reason.
  • The entry limit for the XLI Zurich Seville Marathon 2026 is 12,000 runners.

6.6.   CANCELLATION GUARANTEE.

Once registration has been completed, the entry fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. At the time of registering, the runner may take out a cancellation guarantee for their registration, with two options, and must select one when registering:

1) I do not want any guarantee

2) Cancellation guarantee. Cost: 15 €. Refund of 100% of the registration fee until January 11, 2026.

General conditions of the cancellation guarantee:

  • The cancellation guarantee can only be purchased at the time of registration.
  • The amount of the cancellation guarantee is non-refundable
  • No changes of ownership will be accepted.
  • To make use of the cancellation guarantee and request a refund of the registration fee, you must write an email to inscripciones@deporticket.com until January 11, 2026.

ARTICLE 7. CATEGORIES AND RESULTS

7.1.   CATEGORIES

The following categories are established:

  • Sub 20 M / F: Born in 2007 and 2008 (of legal age on race day)
  • Sub 23 M / F: Born from 2004 to 2006
  • Senior M / W): Born from 2003 up to Master (35 years old)
  • Master M 35 / F 35: From 35 to 39 years old
  • Master M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old
  • Master M 45/ F 45: From 45 to 49 years old
  • Master M 50/ F 50: From 50 to 54 years old
  • Master M 55/ F 55: From 55 to 59 years old
  • Master M 60/ F 60: From 60 to 64 years old
  • Master M 65/ F 65: From 65 to 69 years old
  • Master M 70/ F 70: From 70 to 74 years old
  • Master M 75/ F 75: From 75 to 79 years old
  • Master M 80/ F 80: From 80 to 85 years old
  • Master M 85/ F 85: Over 85 years old.
  • Athlete with Disability in Wheelchair M/ F
  • Athlete with Physical/Intellectual Disability M/ F

* All indicated ages must be reached on race day.

7.2.   RESULTS

The following Results will be produced:                    

  • Overall Male and Female Ranking
  • Overall Male and Female Ranking for Athletes with Disability in Wheelchair
  • Overall Male and Female Ranking for Athletes with Physical / Intellectual Disability
  • Age Group Male and Female Ranking
  • Spanish Male and Female Ranking
  • Andalusian Male and Female Ranking
  • Sevillian Male and Female Ranking
  • Club Ranking

In the event that multiple or staggered starts are established, the rankings will be made using net time from the moment the runner crosses the start line until they cross the finish line

For classification and prize purposes, an Andalusian is understood to be a person with Spanish nationality, born or residing in a municipality of Andalusia.

For classification and prize purposes, a Sevillian is understood to be a person with Spanish nationality, born or residing in the municipality of Seville.

Prizes in the wheelchair athlete category (male and female) will be paid in full provided that the finish times are under 1:50:00 for men and 2:10:00 for women; otherwise 50% will be paid. For times over 2:00:00 for men and 2:20:00 for women, there will be no cash prize.

Prizes in the category of athletes with physical/intellectual disabilities (male and female) will be paid in full provided that the finish times are under 2:40:00 for men and 3:10:00 for women; otherwise 50% will be paid. For times over 2:50:00 for men and 3:20:00 for women, there will be no cash prize.

All cash prizes are subject to the legal withholdings established by Law and to the recognition of the result by the RFEA. Participants who obtain cash prizes and who have had to undergo doping control will not receive payment until the results are in the possession of the Organization.

To collect any prize it is essential to present the ID card, passport or another official document that proves the athlete's identity.

For athletes who achieve national or international records, doping control will be mandatory.

Club classification

A trophy will be awarded to the three clubs with the highest number of finishers.

8.1. COMPLAINTS

All classifications fall solely and exclusively under the authority of the members of the RFEA Judges Committee.

Complaints affecting positions in the classification with prize allocation must be submitted first verbally and without deposit to the Marathon Referee Judge. Subsequently, if the decision of the Referee Judge is not accepted, it must be submitted in writing to the RFEA Competition Committee or to an Appeals Jury, if one has been appointed by the RFEA. If the complaint is submitted to the RFEA Competition Committee, no deposit will be required. If an appeals jury is appointed, the complaint must be submitted along with a deposit of 60 €. If the runner is proven right, the 60 € deposit will be refunded.

Other complaints must be sent in writing to the marathon email: info@zurichmaratonsevilla.es, addressed to the Referee Judge, before the Wednesday following the race.

The Organization will communicate the Referee Judge’s decisions within a maximum period of 10 days, after which the classifications will be considered final. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that moment.

ARTICLE 9. BIB NUMBERS

Bib numbers can only be collected at the Runner’s Expo, which will be held at the FIBES Conference Center in Seville, on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February 2026, from 10:00 to 20:00 (non-stop).

To collect the bib, runners must present the receipt or a copy of the registration and the ID card, passport or another official document that proves their identity.

No bib numbers will be handed out on race day.

Bib numbers must be worn clearly visible on the front of the torso throughout the entire race and may not be modified.

The bib numbers include a disposable chip, so they must not be folded or tampered with.

ARTICLE 10. DISQUALIFICATIONS

Reasons for disqualification:

  • Providing false information in the registration (age, residence, ).
  • Not completing the course
  • Not passing through the timing checkpoints located on the
  • Not wearing the bib clearly visible on the chest, or altering or hiding its advertising
  • Running with a bib and/or chip assigned to another runner
  • Not following the instructions of the judges and/or Organization staff.
  • Having given your bib to be photocopied and used by another runner in the marathon.
  • Refusing to undergo doping control
  • Having inappropriate behavior

ARTICLE 11. AID STATIONS

Liquid and solid aid will be provided to runners along the course and in the post-finish area designated for this purpose.

The aid stations along the course will be distributed as follows:

  • Kilometers 5, 10 and 15: Water and isotonic drinks
  • Kilometers 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and Finish: Water, isotonic drinks, gels and energy bars, fruit, nuts, etc.

Likewise, intermediate stations will be available from kilometer 5 (that is, at kilometers 7.5, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5 and 37.5) where water and isotonic drinks will be available.

ARTICLE 12. MEDICAL CARE

The Zurich Seville Marathon 2026 will provide the necessary Medical Services to assist runners during the event. The Organization recommends that all participants undergo a Medical Check-up prior to the race, with each participant accepting the risk inherent in sporting activity.

Likewise, the athlete declares to be in optimal physical condition to take part in this race and does so under their own responsibility.

Any athlete with health issues is required to notify the Organization in writing beforehand, mark their bib with a red cross and indicate on it their name, address, telephone number and the health issue they suffer from. They will be required (for their safety) to communicate this in writing before the race (indicating their bib number).

The Medical Services will be authorized to withdraw any runner who shows signs of poor physical condition.

ARTICLE 13. BAGGAGE SERVICE

The Organization will provide a baggage service where runners may deposit their belongings, and will not be responsible for the items left there.

The staff of the Baggage Service may ask runners to open their bags before depositing them, to supervise their contents. If a runner refuses to open a bag, the Organization may refuse to accept it.

ARTICLE 14. AUTHORIZED VEHICLES

The only vehicles allowed to follow the race will be those accredited by the Organization. It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motorized or wheeled vehicle (skates, bicycles, etc.), with the Local Police of Seville having express orders to remove them from the course. There will be a sweep vehicle at the back of the race to pick up runners who, for any reason, do not wish or are not able to continue, and those runners who are not in condition to maintain the scheduled control closure pace must board it or abandon the race, following the instructions of any member of the organization.

ARTICLE 15. UNAUTHORIZED DEMONSTRATION

Any type of demonstration by people that could jeopardize the safety of the participants and the holding of the event is prohibited, and they will be removed by law enforcement.

ARTICLE 16. ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS

All participants, by completing their registration, accept these REGULATIONS and the Rules of the RFEA, FAA, WORLD ATHLETICS and AIMS. In case of doubt, the Organization's criteria shall prevail.

ARTICLE 17. SAFETY REGULATIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICY ASSOCIATED WITH SAFETY AND ACTIONS OF THE COMPETENT HEALTH AUTHORITIES

The organizers of the Zurich Seville Marathon will adopt the necessary measures if the health situation so requires, under the protection of the competent health authorities, to guarantee to the greatest extent possible the safety of both the participants and the medical services, volunteers, spectators, security forces, and all personnel involved in organizing the race.

The start and finish areas, bag drop service, aid stations, medical services, and spectator zones may be subject to usage restrictions or modifications according to the protocol determined by the health authorities when the race is held.

If the health authorities, due to a health emergency at the time of the race, were to decide to limit the number of participants to fewer than those registered, or in an extreme case to cancel the race, the organization would offer affected runners the following options:

  • Postpone their registration to the next edition in which the race is held
  • Request a refund of their registration fee, which depending on how far in advance the cancellation is decided before the race takes place, would be:
  • If the cancellation occurs before January 20, 2026, 90% of the registration fee would be refunded.
  • If the cancellation occurs between January 21 and February 9, 2026, 70% of the registration fee would be refunded.
  • If the cancellation occurs between February 10 and 15, 2026, 50% of the registration fee would be refunded.

ARTICLE 18. PUBLICATION ACCEPTANCE (DATA PROTECTION POLICY)

In compliance with the provisions of Article 5 of Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on personal data protection and guarantee of digital rights, we inform you that your personal data will be processed and incorporated into files under the responsibility of the Municipal Sports Institute of Seville, as well as Life Ibérica S.A, registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency. The collection and processing of personal data, incorporated into the files, is intended for the registration of participants, as well as providing them with information on all matters related to the Seville Marathon.

The Municipal Sports Institute of Seville and Sport Life Ibérica S.A. commit to complying with the obligations regarding technical, organizational, and security measures set out in the Regulation developing Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on personal data protection and guarantee of digital rights.

The personal data provided, as well as any images captured during the event, will be used for the purposes of the event itself, as well as for its dissemination and for publishing the final race results, which will include name, surname, category, and nationality.

Furthermore, given that the race is part of the National and International Official Calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and that the contract signed with the data processor provides for the commercial exploitation of the activity by the latter, the following transfers are expressly authorized: the transfer of your data to the Spanish Athletics Federation for the fulfillment of its own purposes; and the use of images obtained during the event to be used in any type of format and/or media (paper, web, communications, video, etc.) in accordance with the purposes expressly consented to herein.

By completing the registration, you declare that you have been informed of the terms contained herein and expressly consent to your personal data being processed for the aforementioned purposes. The participant [or runner] generally prohibits the capture of their image, as well as its use for any purpose, particularly the direct or indirect commercial exploitation of it, by anyone other than Sport Life Ibérica S.A, the Municipal Sports Institute, or third parties authorized by the latter. Likewise, the participant [or runner] authorizes and irrevocably empowers Sport Life Ibérica S.A, or the Municipal Sports Institute to the broadest extent necessary, so that they may, at their own expense, pursue any use or exploitation of the participant's [or runner's] image that any third party may attempt or carry out.
